Disgraced Alabama Priest Alex Crow Marries Teenage Girl He Ran Away to Italy With
A marriage license filed in Mobile County, Alabama indicates he married the teen on Nov. 17, despite the priest's previous claims that they were already wed
An Alabama priest who fled to Italy with an underage girl to avoid investigations into his relationship with the teen is now married, according to a report.
Alexander Crow, 30, married the 18-year-old former McGill-Toolen Catholic high school student he allegedly had a relationship with on Friday, according to the New York Post, citing a marriage license filed in Mobile County, Alabama.
The two left for Italy in July after Crow was accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with a teen and grooming several others at a high school.
In a love letter obtained by The Messenger, Crow said they were married when she was 17, however, the marriage license cited by the Post lists the date as Nov. 17.
Alabama’s minimum age of marriage is 16. According to CBS 42, his now-wife turned 18 only a few months ago back in June.
When the letter was written in July, Crow claimed he would never return to the U.S. The teen's parents were unaware she was going to Italy with him.
The Catholic archdiocese of Mobile immediately removed him from his clerical duties after calling his actions “totally unbecoming of a priest.”

Crow reportedly volunteered as a spiritual leader at the high school where he met the student, the National Catholic Reporter reported.
According to NewsNation affiliate WKRG, the local district attorney said no charges would be filed, he also “declined to answer any questions” about the teen’s trip to Italy.
“She appeared in seemingly good health and said that she is safe,” the statement said. “Without being able to speak with the young lady about these events, we do not have sufficient admissible evidence to charge a crime at this point. Therefore, this investigation is currently closed.”
According to CBS 42, Sheriff Paul Burch maintains the belief that the teen was ‘groomed’ at a young age.
“Once a predator, always a predator,” Burch said about Crow in July 2022. “Why else would you start something if you didn’t intend there would be a physical relationship in the end?”
