Cyclist Deemed ‘Cow Whisperer’ After Halting Dozen Steers in Viral Video
A herd of cows was the last thing Andrew O'Connor expected to encounter on his bicycle ride up to Great Dun Fell, near the small village of Knock, England
A British cyclist dubbed the "cow whisperer" has gone viral for stopping a rogue herd of cows in the middle of the road. The entire incident was recorded on the mans’s GoPro camera.
In an interview with Cycling Weekly, Andrew O'Connor said he had stopped to change the batteries on his GoPro camera on his bicycle ride up to Great Dun Fell, near the small village of Knock, England.
He had readied his camera as the area includes one of UK's major climbs, but what he didn’t expect was to begin recording a herd of cows. The cows he saw had walked past the gate they had been intended to go through.
He then began recording the cows thinking, "that would be a fun little clip to put on my blog," he told the outlet.
"They went past the open gate," O’Connor said ”and the farmer at the back just started screaming. I didn't have a clue what to do.”
The farmer was shouting instructions at O’Connor, to help him stop the cows, including how to hold his hands up to instruct the cattle.

"A bit out of my comfort zone here," O'Connor said in the video after the cows comply with his calls to "stop."
O'Connor's video went viral, with even the farmer's daughter reaching out to him on social media to say her father was amused by the fame his cows had garnered.
In an interview with ABC News, the cyclist said the experience taught him a valuable lesson.
”Fake it until you make it, just put a brave face on," he told ABC News.
