The man charged in connection with the abduction of Charlotte Sena at a park, had a car registered in his name with an address two miles from her home, according to New York's governor.

Gov. Kathy Hochul said police are still trying to determine if Craig Ross Jr, 46, knew the girl’s family.

“It is not known at this time whether he knew her or had her under surveillance for any length of time,” Hochul said, at a news conference late Monday.

But she confirmed that a vehicle was registered to the suspect in the state database at an address two miles from Charlotte’s home in Greenfield, New York.

Ross was charged with first-degree kidnapping during an arraignment early Tuesday morning. Police say they expected him to face additional charges.

He is being held at the Saratoga County Jail without bail after tactical teams arrested him Monday evening inside a camper on a property his mother owns.

Charlotte was found inside a cabinet in the camper. She vanished while riding her bike in Moreau Lake State Park on Saturday.

The 9-year-old was the subject of an Amber Alert after her parents found her abandoned bicycle.

Hochul said police were able to pull a print off of an alleged ransom note left in the mailbox at the Sena family home. It was linked to Ross, who had a prior DUI arrest.

A friend of the family said he believes the crime was pre-meditated.

"I think he may have been aware of them," Patrick Cane said in a Tuesday interview, implying Ross knew the family.
