Wisconsin authorities are searching for a missing teenager who could be halfway across the country.
Anna Marie Estes, 15, was last seen Nov. 4 in Wheatland, a small town in Kenosha County about 46 miles from Milwaukee. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department said Estes was seen leaving the area of 34500 Geneva Road around 2 a.m.
The teen’s mother, Krista Estes, said she “ran away” from her aunt’s house between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Loved ones held a candlelight vigil to raise awareness on Wednesday.
Multiple police departments in Maine have been told to keep an eye out for the girl, who may be headed somewhere in Maine with an unidentified man, WMTW reported.
Estes was wearing a black hoodie and black leggings, the sheriff’s office said. She has dark brown eyes, dark brown and blue hair, weighs 80 pounds and is 4 feet, 9 inches tall, authorities said.
