Cops Pull Car Over for Speeding, Find Over $1 Million in Cocaine and Cash Hidden Inside

Jail records show Keisy Estibet Peguero and Jose Argenis Hernandez-Severino have been charged with drug trafficking

The driver and passenger of an allegedly speeding car were arrested after deputies claimed they discovered over $1 million worth of cocaine and cash hidden inside the vehicle.

Jail records indicate that Keisy Estibet Peguero and Jose Argenis Hernandez-Severino have been charged with drug trafficking.

The pair were released after posting $100,000 bonds, according to the records.

Citing the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, The State reported that Peguero, 35, and Severino, 28, were pulled over for speeding on a South Carolina highway on June 30.

The outlet reported that “an encounter” with Peguero led deputies to suspect criminal activity, and they allegedly received permission to search the vehicle.

Deputies allegedly discovered a hidden compartment containing about $900,000 worth of cocaine and $191,878 in cash, leading to the suspects' arrests, as per the newspaper.

It’s unclear whether Peguero and Severino retained attorneys to comment on their behalf.
