A Texas Teen Allegedly Shot 2 People Then Walked Free the Next Day on $1 Million Bond
Hilton was initially charged with two counts of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury for shooting two teens two days before Christmas
A 17-year-old Texas boy posted $1 million bail and walked free just a day after being arrested for shooting two other teens — one of them fatally — before Christmas.
Connor Hilton of Friendswood, Texas, about 25 miles outside Houston, spent most of Christmas Day with his family after the Dec. 23 shooting.
But police swarmed his home and re-arrested him on Monday, Christmas Day, around 6:40pm after the charges against him were upgraded to murder, reported KTRK-TV.
Hilton was initially charged with two counts of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury for the double shooting.
Police took issue with the initial bond conditions saying they did not include “GPS monitoring or any conditions that provide extra security for the community given the violent actions of Hilton.”
After one of the teens, Ethan Riley, 18, died a judge approved upgrading the charges against the teen to murder.

Hilton’s bond had initially been set for $600,000, but later increased to $1 million, police said.
One day later Galveston County Criminal District Attorney Jack Roady approved the murder charges for the deceased victim and said that appropriate bond conditions would be set.
A new bond has still not been issued.
