A family friend said he believes the abduction of 9-year-old Charlotte Sena was carefully planned out before it was executed.

Speaking to Fox & Friends on Tuesday, family friend Patrick Cane said that, to him, "It's obvious that this person had some premeditated aspirations."

"I think he may have been aware of them," Cane added, implying Charlotte's alleged abductor, Craig Ross, Jr., knew the family.

The young girl went missing over the weekend after she went for a solo bike ride around Loop A at the Moreau Lake State Park in Gansevoort, New York. She had been riding with friends but wanted to do one last lap on her own.

Charlotte was rescued Monday after Police discovered the fourth-grader hidden in a camper owned by Ross, 46, who has been charged with kidnapping.

Police have not said one way or another if they believe Ross was casing the family, or that he targeted Charlotte specifically or at random.

Police allege Ross, who lived with his mother in their camper, kept Charlotte in a cabinet in the trailer. Ross was arrested after some resistance, police said, and suffered some minor injuries during his detainment.

Charlotte has been reunited with her family. A GoFundMe campaign launched for her family as they recover from this horrifying ordeal is nearing $20,000 in donations.
