I Saw Charlotte Sena Kidnapping Suspect Inches From My 9-Year-Old Grandson
'I was sitting at my dining room table and when the picture came out of him, I literally almost got sick to my stomach. Fell off my chair almost,' upstate New York grandmother told news outlet
An upstate New York woman says she nearly fell out of her chair when police showed her a picture of Craig Ross, Jr., Charlotte Sena's alleged abductor, because she'd seen him months earlier, inches from her young grandson.
Carol Brown told ABC News she recognized Ross as the stranger she caught in her front yard, talking to the boy, who is 9.
"The police asked me, 'Would you mind looking at pictures and seeing if you recognize anybody?' And I said, 'Absolutely,'" Brown, of Ballston Spa, NY, told ABC.
"I was sitting at my dining room table and when the picture came out of him, I literally almost got sick to my stomach. Fell off my chair almost."
Brown is certain Ross was the man who approached her grandson while the child was playing with a weed whacker in the front yard.
Brown said the encounter, which happened a few months ago, left her rattled. Had her dog not barked, she may not have realized a stranger was talking to her grandson.
"I walk up. I literally lose my breath because I'm like, where did this person come from?,'" she said. "There's this man standing with his back to me right over him [my grandson]. I yelled, 'Hey what's going on?'"

She said the strange man turned toward her and started backpedaling away, claiming he was asking the boy if he could come with him and help him operate his new weed trimmer.
Brown said that as she walked toward the man yelling, "No, no, no!," he hopped on a bicycle and peddled away. She did not report the incident to police.
Ross remains jailed without bail after he was arrested for the kidnapping of Sena in Moreau Lake State Park.
Since his arrest in that case it has been reported that he was previously investigated for the sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl. That investigation was closed.
He was also previously charged with choking someone during a 2017 domestic dispute.
