Murdered Florida Toddler Caylee Anthony’s Memorial Site Found in Disrepair 15 Years After Skeletal Remains Discovered (Exclusive)
The slain toddler's mother Casey Anthony last visited the memorial site in 2022 and has no plans to return, according to a friend
Days after Florida toddler Caylee Anthony's remains were discovered by a meter reader in a wooded area less than a mile from her family's Orlando home, people came from across the country to create a makeshift memorial at the site.
In the 15 years since her skeletonized body was discovered on Dec. 11, 2008, thousands have left flowers, stuffed animals and handwritten cards dedicated to the slain 2-year-old toddler.
But the memorial has recently become overgrown, with just a few waterlogged stuffed animals to mark the place where Caylee was found six months after she disappeared.
The little girl had a blanket with her and was placed in a trash bag, bound by duct tape.
The Messenger recently visited the site, which is approximately a third of a mile from the Anthony family home.
A spokesperson with Florida's Orange County says that they occasionally clean up the area.

"If there are dead flowers or filthy stuffed animals, we remove them," the spokesperson says. "But more are usually placed there."
Caylee's mother Casey Anthony last visited the site in 2022, while filming the Peacock documentary Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies.
Now 37, Casey became infamous around the world in 2008 after she was charged with murdering Caylee, who was last seen in June of that year.
Caylee's mom was tried for her murder, but was acquitted in 2011 in a decision that sparked outrage and shock.
A friend tells The Messenger that Casey doesn't plan to visit the site again.
"She doesn't wallow in the past," says the pal. "It really stirs up some weird feelings for her to think about it."
