A 39-year-old man is accused of not only breaking into a family’s California home but making himself at home for two whole days — unbeknownst to the residents.

Police said Yuri Brand allegedly used the back door to break into a Piedmont, California, home while the occupants were away on vacation, local news station KTVU reported.

While inside the house, Brand allegedly helped himself to around $1,000 worth of food and drink from the liquor cabinet and refrigerator, police told the news outlet.

A 39-year-old was arrested for allegedly breaking into a home and spending two days eating and drinking $1,000 worth of food from the occupants' kitchen while they were on vacation.

The residents said they were left with barely a drop of alcohol left and returned to their house in disarray but with no sign of the suspect.

Piedmont police scoured the home’s surveillance footage and recognized Brand as the man they had arrested earlier that morning for allegedly trespassing elsewhere, the news outlet reported.

He was arrested and charged with burglary and trespassing, according to KTVU.
