Police in Southern California are on the lookout for a panhandler suspect who used a shopping cart to attack an elderly, disabled man after the victim declined to give cash.
The incident occurred last month in Santa Ana when the victim was upended by a shopping cart that was violently pushed into him from behind, surveillance video released by police Wednesday shows.
The suspect attacked the elderly man after he refused to give money, according to Santa Ana police.
While the victim was on the ground, the suspect took his "belongings" before running away, police said. It was not clear what items were stolen from the injured, stunned man.
The elderly victim was transported to the hospital to treat his injuries, the extent of which were not clear.

Police described the suspect as a white male, 25-35 years old, approximately 5’9” tall, 185 lbs., with a tattoo on his outer, left forearm, and wearing a black shirt, black pants and white shoes.
