The body of a woman seen in a shocking video being paraded through the streets of Gaza in a pickup truck by Hamas terrorists during a surprise attack on Israel has been identified as German-Israeli tattoo artist Shani Louk, according to a report.

German officials said that militants kidnapped Louk, 30, from an open-air dance music festival that she was attending in southern Israel near the Gaza border, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The woman’s cousin told the Washington Post that Louk was attending the Nova Festival in celebration of the Israeli harvest festival Sukkot when she was abducted.

“We recognized her by the tattoos, and she has long dreadlocks,” Louk's cousin told The Post.

Videos verified by CNN and the Wall Street Journal circulated online showing Hamas fighters chanting and parading her apparently dead body at the back of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, her mother, Ricarda Louk, released a video saying that she recognized her daughter and asked for help, according to CNN.

"This morning my daughter, Shani Nicole Louk, a German citizen, was kidnapped with a group of tourists in southern Israel by Palestinian Hamas," she said. "We were sent a video in which I could clearly see our daughter unconscious in the car with the Palestinians and them driving around the Gaza Strip. I ask you to send us any help or any news. Thank you very much."

An official from the German foreign ministry told CNN that German officials are trying to determine how German citizens have been impacted as fighting continues between Israeli forces and Hamas militants.

“The Federal Foreign Office and the German embassy in Tel Aviv are in close contact with the Israeli authorities in order to clarify whether and to what extent German citizens are affected,” said the official from the German foreign ministry.

Hamas launched surprise attacks in Israeli territory early Saturday morning by land, sea, and air.

As of Sunday afternoon, Over 700 Israelis have been killed, and thousands more have been injured in Gaza, according to Israel authorities, according to Israeli officials. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that 370 Palestinians were killed and 2,200 people wounded in Gaza since Saturday, according to CNN.
