WATCH: News Anchor Cracks Up With ‘Pothole’ Slip-Up, Asks ‘How Big Is Your Hole?’

BBC News presenter Peter Levy's attempt to remain professional is as good as it gets

Reporting the news, believe it or not, is a difficult job — especially on television. Long-time BBC News presenter Peter Levy is not immune to slipping up, despite his years on-air in front of millions.

While reading a call-to-action from BBC News' Look North regional service viewers, Levy asked viewers to send photos of their crumbling, pothole-filled roads — except it didn't come out quite as he wanted or how it was written.

No one blames Levy for laughing and being a good sport for continuing with the script while stifling a hearty chuckle.

"If you can send a picture, Norton's always in a hole," he said, mildly stifling his laughter. "If you can tweet me a picture, that would be good as well. The biggest potholes, we’ll be having some on the program."

The light-hearted local news blooper was well-received with viewers commending him for his professionalism.

Levy, a weekday presenter for the BBC since 2002, is handling the blooper with grace.
