An 18-year-old wife was charged Friday after she allegedly stabbed her husband repeatedly for criticizing her “reckless driving.”

Adriana Nickole Campbell of Jonesboro, Arkansas, was charged with first-degree domestic battery after she allegedly stabbed her husband the day before in their apartment complex.

According to documents obtained by KAIT, police responded to an alleged stabbing on Thursday at an apartment in the 2600 block of Glenn Cove.

When authorities arrived, they reportedly found the victim sitting on a couch while bleeding from his left leg and saw a cut on the lower portion of the man’s abdomen which had part of his intestine coming through, per the affidavit.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and reportedly told investigators that his wife had stabbed him during an argument about her “reckless driving manner.”

“Once they arrived home, Campbell obtained a knife and began to ‘key’ their vehicle parked in front of their apartment,” the affidavit stated. “When victim confronted her at the car to get her to stop, Campbell turned on him and stabbed him multiple times with the knife.”

Upon searching the couple’s residence, police found a black folding knife and took Campbell in for questioning.

While interviewing her, Campbell reportedly “admitted to having stabbed the victim with a black-handled knife,” according to the affidavit. Additionally, the document read that “she could not recall the events of the stabbing as she had ‘blacked out’ during that time.”

Campbell reportedly told investigators that her husband had thrown her to the ground twice after punching and kicking her. However, court documents obtained by the outlet note that a female officer found no “observable injury” on Campbell’s person.

According to court documents, Campbell showed remorse for her actions.

The judge ordered Campbell to be held on a $75,000 cash or surety bond and issued a no-contact order against her husband.

Her next court date will be on Jan. 24.
