The area in Colorado where investigators discovered the body of missing mother Suzanne Morphew has been dubbed "the Boneyard" by local residents, KRDO reports.

A week ago, the 49-year-old mother's remains were discovered along the side of Highway 17 in Colorado's Saguache County. Two days ago, officials confirmed the remains were Morphew's, ending a years-long mystery into what happened to her.

Morphew went for a Mother's Day bike ride back in 2020 and was never seen again. In 2021, authorities charged her husband, Barry, with killing her. However, prosecutors dropped the charges the following year.

As KDRO notes, Morphew's was only the most recent body to be found in Saguache County. Five bodies have been located there in recent years.

Back in July, while searching for a still-missing woman, investigators found a body in the foothills west of Saguache Peak off County Road 46AA. It was later identified as 26-year-old James Montoya, who disappeared in April from a bar in Lakewood — about four hours away by car.

"Somebody was looking for their family member and that's how our son was located," Corinna Montoya, James Montoya's mother, told the station. "Saguache County is getting a reputation for being called 'The Boneyard,' just because they've found over the years so many bodies or bones."

According to the article, Saguache County is known for how secluded it is.

Barry Morphew's attorney, Iris Eytan, spoke to KDRO, who said investigators shouldn't be "pointing fingers" at her client, but instead trying to find suspects.

"What were the circumstances of their disappearances, what is cause and manner of death of the remains found in the area? What happened to them? Are they looking for other remains in this area? The public should demand answers about these five people who suspiciously went missing or were found dead in this area."
