A former Tennessee teacher charged with raping a 12-year-old student was arrested for contacting the victim, threatening that he would "regret doing this" and admitting having sex with the boy, police said.

Alissa McCommon, 38, was arrested at her home in Covington on Thursday and charged with coercion of a witness, aggravated stalking, and harassment, the Covington Police Department said in a news release.

She was originally arrested on Sept. 8 and charged with rape of a child following an investigation into allegations from "multiple juvenile victims" that McCommon, their former teacher, befriended them by playing video games and then used social media to send them nude photos and entice them to have sex, the police said.

The $25,000 bond releasing her stipulated that she should have no contact with any of the victims or any other children besides her own.

But police said they learned on Tuesday that McCommon had begun using a new phone number to text the boy she is accused of raping.

She used a code word known to him "to confirm that the juvenile was alone, often before sending nude photographs on SnapChat," police said.

On Thursday, she used the code word to send "multiple text messages to victim indicating he would 'regret doing this.' McCommon, using the same number, also admitted to a sexual encounter with the victim," police said.

Police Chief Donna Turner said in a statement that McCommon's actions are "not only appalling, but CPD is also concerned about this apparent violation of her bond conditions. Due to the nature of the communications, we are concerned others may have been contacted."

McCommon is being held in the Tipton County jail without bond.

Police urged parents to contact them if they believe their child was a victim of McCommon to contact them at 901-475-1261.
