Police bodycam footage shows former NHL star Alex Galchenyuk repeatedly threatening to kill police officers and calling a Black officer the N-word when they arrested him in July.

“I'm gonna chop you, your wife, your daughter," Galchenyuk was recorded saying at one point while cuffed in the backseat of a patrol vehicle. "One phone call and you're all dead, your whole family, your bloodline is dead."

In slurred speech with several f-words interlaced, he said the cops should let him go because “I paid my f—ing taxes for 12 years in the highest tax bracket.”

During the ride in the car, and with a camera capturing his movements and comments in the backseat, he continued to repeatedly threatening the officers and also hurled racist slurs.

"I asked for your name and you were shaking to give it to me because you know I'm the Russian motherf—er. I'll f—ing chop all of you f—s," he said. "You, your wife, your f—ing daughter. I'll chop all of you."

Galchenyuk also repeatedly hurled racial slurs at a Black officer seated in the front. "Turn right there, n—. Hey n—, turn there"

The officer could be heard asking him to “not refer to me using that term.”

His arrest happened on July 9 after police in Scottsdale, Arizona, received a report of a BMW that ran into a parking sign and rammed into another vehicle. Police said Galchenyuk appeared “heavily impaired” when they encountered him.

Galchenyuk had blood on his face, but it’s unclear how or why it got there, when officers approached his car with him seated in the passenger side.

He was arrested on charges of private property hit-and-run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest and threatening or intimidating, police said.

He can be seen getting handcuffed on the ground and then being raised to a sitting position. One officer approached Galchenyuk and urged him to stand up and not sit on the gravel. The next scenes are shown of him in the car.

Galchenyuk issued an apology for his drunken tirade, saying “I let you all down.”

Galchenyuk pleaded guilty to one count of threatening, and his other charges were dismissed. He was ordered to spend two days in jail, complete an alcohol treatment program in exchange for not getting more jail time, and pay a fine of $563.

Galchenyuk, who was born in Wisconsin, was the No. 3 overall pick in the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. He played six seasons with Montreal before making professional stops with the Arizona Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche and back to the Coyotes.

The Coyotes terminated his contract with them two days after the arrest. He’d signed a one-year contract worth $775,000 on July 1 with the Coyotes.

Galchenyuk is currently playing with Hockey Club SKA in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
