A young woman aboard the Alaska Airlines flight that experienced a midair blowout of one of its doors Friday sent a heartbreaking text to her parents, believing her life might soon be over.

"Please pray for me," Emma Vu wrote from Flight 1281. "I don't want to die."

Vu was asleep when the Boeing 737-9 MAX, carrying 171 other passengers and six crew members, dipped suddenly. The flight, which was headed from Portland, Oregon, to Ontario, California, had part of its fuselage blow out at about 16,000 feet, causing the cabin to immediately lose pressure.

The flight made an emergency landing at Portland International Airport 35 minutes after takeoff. No serious injuries were reported.

"The masks r down. I am so scared right now," Vu wrote to her parents in texts she posted in a TikTok video.

Vu spoke to CNN, and said that the entire ordeal was "very scary" and "very surreal."
