90-Year-Old Man Charged With Attempted Murder For Stabbing His 82-Year-Old Wife: Deputies

A 90-year-old man from California has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing his 82-year-old wife.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said it received a call from a neighbor at around 7 p.m. Thursday who said an injured woman had come to their door, as reported by FOX 5.

Deputies said the man, Clark Sandknop, was having an argument with his wife at their home in Encinitas when it became physical, and he allegedly used a knife to stab her.

As reported by The San Diego Union-Tribune, the 82-year-old had visible injuries when the deputies arrived. Sgt. Marcello Orsini said in a news release that she was taken to the hospital, and her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The husband was also treated for minor injuries before being booked into Vista Detention Facility on attempted murder and felony elder abuse charges.
