More than a dozen high school students were arrested in Florida after allegedly engaging in a massive brawl caught on video and shared widely on social media.

Fox affiliate WTVT reported that police arrested 13 students after two separate fights on the Zephyrhills High School campus on Tuesday. The two fights, both occurring around noon on Tuesday, involved a total of 14 students.

"Let me be perfectly clear: behavior of this nature will not be tolerated in Pasco County Schools,” Pasco Schools Superintendent Kurt Browning said in a statement, according to the outlet. “Every student has the right to a safe and conducive learning environment, and we will take every necessary measure to ensure that this remains the case.”

Footage captured by bystanders that spread across social media shows students throwing punches and kicks. Other students step in and appear to try to untangle students pinned to one another.

In another video, school personnel and faculty members appear to try to break up the fight, to no avail.

It’s unclear what started the fight. Some parents opted to keep their kids home from school the next day, WTVT reported.

"I did not want to be in that environment and get caught up in it and get hurt or anything like that," 10th-grade student Gabi Ringo told the news outlet.
