A Texas man is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase in the Houston area with an 11-year-old family member in the front seat of his maroon Honda Accord.

Nicholas Rocha, 34, was charged this week with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and endangering a child.

League City Police told The Messenger the chase went from League City to Houston's southside Tuesday night.

Rocha was wanted on a theft warrant out of Harris County and reportedly took off when officers tried to pull him over.

The chase went on for about 45 minutes at speeds of nearly 100 mph as he headed toward Houston officials told KTRK-TV.

Houston Police were able to stop Rocha by hitting the corner of the vehicle, causing it to spin around.

The 11-year-old was not hurt and was given to a family member.

Officials did not say how Rocha and the boy are related.

Bond was set at $200,000 in the case.
