Wolverine Gets His Classic Yellow and Blue Comic Book Suit in ‘Deadpool 3’

Hugh Jackman is finally donning Wolverine's iconic yellow and blue suit.

Throughout his tenure as Wolverine in the X-Men films, Jackman's character has been teased about this ensemble, made famous in the comic book series, but fans never actually got to see him in it. Now, he's officially putting on the suit for the upcoming Deadpool 3, starring Ryan Reynolds.

Jackman will reprise his role as the clawed superhero, which he hasn't done since 2017's Logan. As you can see below, one fan bucket wish list item has been winkingly crossed off with his return.

The closest Jackman ever came to donning the comic book suit was in a deleted scene for 2013's The Wolverine, which shows a glimpse of the outfit in a suitcase, though it's never tried on.

When pressed by a fan about the iconic look and any additional footage that might be available, director James Mangold responded on Twitter, "We never even made a version of the outfit. Everything about his character as I understand it, would keep him from donning a self-promoting 'uniform.' I'm sure the next incarnation of the Wolverine will go there."

Deadpool 3, in all its yellow-suit glory, lands in theaters on May 3, 2024.
