It looks like Vivek Ramaswamy has a new advisor in the form of Jake Paul.

That's because the influencer-turned-boxer apparently convinced the Republican Presidential candidate to join TikTok.

In an X (formerly Twitter) post Wednesday, the Ramaswamy said that during a recent dinner with Paul, he was encouraged to join the platform in an attempt to reach young voters.

"Had dinner with Jake Paul on Sunday. He changed my mind and convinced me to join TikTok," the politician wrote. "Yes, kids under age 16 shouldn't be using it, but the fact is that many young voters are and we're not going to change this country without winning. We can't just talk about the importance of the GOP 'reaching young voters' while hiding in our own echo chambers."

Ramaswamy, who is also the founder of pharmaceutical giant Roivant Sciences, went on to criticize apps like TikTok, arguing that it's "bad" the Chinese Communist Party "collects data" from users.

"It's bad when the CCP collects data from U.S. users via TikTok," he noted, "but the truth is it's no better when 'American' companies like Airbnb do the same thing by handing over U.S. user data to China, and we're not going to get China to play by the same set of rules until we win this thing."

Ramaswamy also stated that he would be joining the video-sharing social media platform on Wednesday.

Paul, a YouTube star and athlete, similarly shared several posts over the weekend that featured Ramaswamy. In one Instagram Story speaking candidly about his politics, he seemingly endorsed the businessman.

"I seem right wing but really I'm pretty neutral on policies and want the truth to be told," Paul wrote. "I just want the games to be put to the side and I want salesman politics to die. People think this sh-- isn't important and it so is! Your vote matters... I'm the people's champ and always will be. I got y'all."

Paul continued, "With all that said, I like Vivek as a person and human truly. F--- republican and democrat. He's a good a** American who can seriously help us."

The influencer also shared a video to X of the pair jokingly sparring.

Ramaswamy announced his candidacy for the Republican party back in February 2023. He has built a platform on right-wing issues such as advocating against identity politics and "wokeism," opposing abortion and using military force at the southern border, among others.
