Duane "Keffe D" Davis, who has been charged in the Tupac Shakur murder, has new legal representation. He will now be defended by well-known Las Vegas attorney Ross Goodman.

Goodman confirmed the news to the Associated Press. He said he would not immediately enter a plea on behalf of Davis and he would seek another two weeks to confirm that he'll be hired for the Davis case.

Edi Faal, the longtime personal lawyer of Davis who is based in Los Angeles, told the AP previously that he was trying to find Davis a defense attorney in Nevada, where the case is being tried. Faal also confirmed Goodman's hiring.

In September, Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo announced in court that Davis has been charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon after he was arrested in the 1996 drive-by shooting that resulted in Shakur's death at age 25.

This is not Goodman's first high-profile case.

According to the AP, he represented New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara who pleaded guilty in July to misdemeanors in relation to a felony battery case about a man’s beating at a Las Vegas nightclub the weekend before the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl.

Goodman's dad, Oscar Goodman, represented mob figures like Anthony “Tony the Ant” Spilotro, who inspired the character in 1995's Casino. Oscar also served as the mayor of Las Vegas for three terms.

Davis has been denied bail and if convicted of first-degree murder, he could be given between 50 years to life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
