Travis Kelce Shares What Friends and Family Said About Meeting Taylor Swift

After Taylor Swift attended Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs' victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday, the Internet has been ablaze with fierce interest and intrigue about the pair. So, the decorated tight end and his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, had no choice but to discuss the overwhelming interest in Travis' relationship with Taylor on Wednesday's episode of their podcast New Heights.

"Shout out to to Taylor for pulling up," Travis said. "That was pretty ballsy."

The brothers said they had been debating whether or not to talk about the buzz surrounding Travis and Taylor, but after she watched Sunday's game from Travis' personal suite – and eventually left Arrowhead Stadium in his car – the attention became too deafening.

"I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her," Travis said. "The friends and family. She looked amazing. Everybody was talking about her in a great light."

He added, "On top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans. We script it all, ladies and gentlemen."

Travis noted that things have been wild in the aftermath, including paparazzi staking out his house. But he said he's just taking everything in stride, on what he calls "the rollercoaster of life."

"To see the slow motion chest bumps, to see the high-fives with mom, to see how Chiefs Kingdom was all excited that she was there. That s--t was absolutely hysterical," Travis continued. "It was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure."

Travis also made mention of he and Taylor leaving together, saying, "And then we just slid off in the getaway car at the end."

He's already mastered the skill of Taylor Swift song puns.

Jason asked Travis about a rumor that Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was actually the one who played matchmaker for the couple.

"I know that he had met the Swift family before," Travis said. "I don’t know, he could have been in the background the whole time."

Travis further explained that his coach and Taylor met when Reid was on the staff of Taylor's home-state Philadelphia Eagles. Reid's 13-year tenture as Eagles head coach came to an end in 2012.

Moving forward, Travis said not to expect him to discuss his relationship with Taylor with such candor.

"It is my personal life," he said. "I want to respect both of our lives. She isn’t in the media as much as I am doing this show every single week and having fun during the NFL season on other guys’ shows."

However, he was quick to note, "I’m enjoying life and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend."
