Tory Lanez's latest motion to be released on bond while he appeals his conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion has been rejected.

A judge from the California Court of Appeals denied the Canadian rapper's request on Friday, according to documents obtained by legal reporter Meghann Cuniff.

Lanez "stands convicted of a violent felony, which is a factor a court shall consider in determining whether the defendant poses a danger to the community," the written ruling reads. The judge also noted that Lanez is “a potential flight risk,” citing his Canadian citizenship.

The "Hurts Me" singer was previously denied bail in September, one month after being sentenced to 10 years in prison for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

He is expected to serve three to six months at North Kern State Prison, a medium-security facility in Delano, Calif., before being transferred to a longterm facility for the remainder of his sentence. He was previously held at Los Angeles County Jail.
