Tina Knowles Celebrates Beyonce’s Economy-Boosting Renaissance Sales
Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour is set to end its run in Kansas City, Mo., on Oct. 1
Tina Knowles is celebrating her daughter Beyoncé's impact on the economy thanks to her Renaissance tour.
"Anything Beyoncé does becomes a cultural event, but the Renaissance World Tour has become a cultural movement," read a screenshot of a social caption from the New York Times posted to Knowles' Instagram on Friday. "By its close this weekend, the tour will have generated an estimated $4.5 billion for the American economy, about as much as the 2008 Olympics did for Beijing."
The former fashion designer added in her own caption, "This is so awesome! To be able to stimulate the economy is no small feat!"
Knowles then gave Taylor Swift a shoutout for bringing in billions of dollars with her record-breaking Eras tour: "And! Taylor Swift! Just being young women and being able to say this, is so awesome!!! Proud of them both!"
CNN previously reported in August that ticket sales from Swift's tour could top $2.2 billion.
Like many fans, Octavia Spencer cheekily referenced Beyoncé's hit song, "Run the World," in the comments, writing, "Who run the world??? #Girls."

In August, data company QuestionPro shared findings from the Renaissance Tour, suggesting the Beyhive had been outspending Swifties, noting that for Beyoncé’s U.S. and Toronto shows, Renaissance attendees spent $1,800 on average – $300 more than Eras attendees – racking up bills on tickets, concert outfits, merch, hotel and travel.
According to the data, 80 percent of Renaissance concertgoers also said the money was worth it, 9 percent higher than Eras concertgoers.
While speaking to The Messenger in July, Knowles couldn't help but gush about seeing her daughter onstage.
"First of all, I'm so happy because she's happy up there. She is having the time of her life," she explained. "I think she missed it. I don't think she knew how much she missed it."
