Tiffany Haddish Pleads Not Guilty to DUI Charge, Hires A-List Attorney
Tiffany Haddish was arrested for a DUI on Thanksgiving weekend and was charged with two misdemeanors earlier this month
Tiffany Haddish has hired a top celebrity lawyer as she entered a not guilty plea to two misdemeanor charges following her DUI arrest last month. She has a pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 14, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office tells The Messenger.
The comedian and actress, who was not present in court, made the plea through her attorney, Mari Henderson, in court on Wednesday, Rolling Stone reported. Henderson an associate at Alex Spiro's law firm, is working on the case with Spiro. Spiro, who has served as the lawyer for celebrities like Elon Musk, Jay-Z and Megan Thee Stallion, is helming the case.
Haddish was charged one count of driving under the influence, and another of driving with a 0.08% blood alcohol content, The L.A. County D.A.'s Office said, according to Deadline.
Haddish was arrested on Thanksgiving weekend, the Beverly Hills Police Department previously confirmed to The Messenger.
Police responded to a call about a car stopped in the middle of Beverly Drive at around 5:45 a.m. and found her slumped over the wheel with the engine running. She was not involved in an accident.
TMZ reported at the time that Haddish fell asleep behind the wheel, and photos and video show her being handcuffed by police. She was released the same day after being charged.
She had performed at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood on Thursday night for the club's 43rd annual Thanksgiving feast and show.
