‘The Voice’ Recap: Blind Auditions Round Three Leaves Reba McEntire ‘Shocked’
Plus, Gwen Stefani nabs not one but two four-chair turners
The blind auditions continued into week two for The Voice on Monday night, and this time, a couple of new nicknames emerged: "Last Word Horan" and "Ramblin' Man," which were nods to Niall Horan's tendency to try and get the last word over other coaches in an effort to recruit contestants … when they're not already president of his fan club, that is.
Also making an impression on the coaching front was Reba McEntire, who couldn't help but dance after scoring a surprise recruit from a four-chair turn. Meanwhile, John Legend met his long-lost twin, and Gwen Stefani nabbed a couple of coveted four-chair turns.
Here's a look at all of the new talents that took the stage on The Voice Season 24's third round of blind auditions.
Stee (34, Bluffton, SC)
Song: "Sugar" by Maroon 5
At the top of this audition, Stee was worried that he might slip when trying to hit the high notes that Adam Levine trademarked for this band number. However, that concern was for naught because he not only hit 'em, but he did it dozens of times with absolute ease. This Southern singer has been performing with his sister and best friends his whole life, which means he's not used to going solo, but that didn't stop him from being a star. His tryout would've earned a four-chair turn if not for John using his block to stop Niall from having a shot. Not to worry, though; Niall pledges to use his steal to recruit him in the future … but he'll have to crawl over John's jacket to do so. With Stee's soul and range, theirs is a match made in music heaven, and the connection is solidified even more by the memory of the contestant's late cousin Matthew, who idolized the hip-hop legend.

Chechi Sari (32, Pontiac, MI)
Song: "Lovin' You" by Minnie Riperton
It barely took a full song line for John and Gwen to turn around for this feather-toned songstress, and Niall and Reba weren't far behind once they heard her coast through the tender high notes of this vintage piece — and their jaws officially started hitting the floor when she dropped into a lower register and delivered some turn-worthy tones there, too. Chechi Sari, whose family has Nigerian roots and wasn't initially sold on her decision to pursue music instead of medicine, saved the best for last with her impossible sky-high closing note that left Niall asking, "Who are you and what planet are you from?" The coaches each gave a spirited pitch to this four-chair-turner, but ultimately Gwen's promise to both guide her "perfect" vocals and protect the parts of it that make her unique won the day.

Reid Zingale (27, Nashville, TN)
Song: "July" by Noah Cyrus
Gwen and Niall heard just one note before deciding to tamp their buttons for this folksy crooner, but after a few power notes slipped into the mix halfway through, John was convinced as well. Reid admitted to being a newcomer to the music scene, but his soft sound has just enough gravel and gravitas to make him a standout of the audition series. Niall praised his "storyteller" stage presence and promised that his formidable fanbase would follow along for this recruit — plus, he got a key endorsement from Reba McEntire — and that was enough to win another for Team Niall. This enlistment had the Irishman so jazzed that he decided to do his second jig of the season.
Team: Niall Horan
Gillian Smith (20, Mechanicsburg, PA)
Song: "Heart Like a Truck" by Lainey Wilson
This isn't Gillian Smith's first talent show rodeo. In fact, she got the attention of her high school teacher who insisted she had some country twang to play with. Her day job is working as an aesthetician, and unfortunately she won't have to put it on hold for The Voice just yet. Though she had some nice tones, her nerves were the clearest part of the song, and her pitch wasn't quite precise enough for any of the coaches to offer a turn.

Claudia B. (24, Nashville TN)
Song: "Human Nature" by Michael Jackson
This young hopeful matched the subtle energy of this early '80s soft rock favorite right off the rip. Even if she lost the steadiness of her performance once she saw John, Niall and Reba turn around at once, the spirit of her performance was still strong enough to keep all of the coaches interested. Claudia has a history of working for Reba before — even if it was as a server for the country legend — but she had a lot more in common musically with John, so she made the strategic decision to join his team instead of Reba's.

Mac Royals (30, Wrightsville, AR)
Song: "Gravity" by John Mayer
Now this is a guy who knows how to end on a high note. The Southern singer came in with the hope that the coaches would hear his heart and join him on his mission to bring more opportunities for musicians in his home state. Indeed, Mac's pain and passion — stemming from the loss of his father to both incarceration and eventually untimely death — was very distinct in his delivery. Between his soulful, achy full voice and some choice high notes, Mac convinced John he was simply made for his team, and likely everyone else was, too. However, Mac's history of watching the sitcom Reba made it a no-brainer for him to join the Oklahoma native's squad. Besides, she knows a thing or two about breaking out of a small town and into the big time. For her part, Reba was delighted but "absolutely shocked" that she managed to nab this promising contestant.
Team: Reba McEntire
Noah Spencer (20, Richlands, VA)
Song: "Something in the Orange" by Zach Bryan
Noah's background in a small coal mining town clearly had an impact on his growly, gravelly Southern sound. Though Reba wanted to bring him home to her team, Niall made the best impression by praising the guy for his very fitting song choice and promising that he understands what it means to come from a small town and bring your sound to the world. Even though his fellow coaches tried to stop "Last Word Horan" by summoning up a sample of "Ramblin' Man," Noah was undeterred.
Team: Niall Horan
Tom Nitti (31, New Hartford, NY)
Song: "Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours)" by Stevie Wonder
This Purple Heart-decorated war veteran turned to music after serving his country with pride, and, although his performance was a little too frenetic and disconnected to show off the finer points of his sound, it was enough for Reba McEntire to tamp her button and bring him onto her team.
Team: Reba McEntire
Alison Albrecht
Song: "Ironic" by Alanis Morisette
Though we only got to hear a sample of what Alison Albrecht brought to the stage with her take on this '90s femme rock favorite, Reba heard enough of her range and "sincerity" to add her to the team.
Team: Reba McEntire
Talakai (34, Sacramento, CA)
Song: "Stay With Me" by Sam Smith
Being a John Legend look-alike, Talakai came in with hopes of joining the "Legend Squad" and joking that John was his long-lost "cousin." However, the former foster kid had his pick between both John and Reba after the two turned for him. John praised the "richness" of his voice and offered to help him bring out the "storyteller" element of his performance, which was more than enough to earn his allegiance.
Team: John Legend
Charlotte aka Iceberg (34, Essex, NY)
Song: "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie
Though she did not get a chair turn this time, this producer and budding singer-songwriter got high praise for her haunting tone from John Legend, and her vibrato and crescendos were solid enough to get her an invite to come back.
Team: N/A
Rudi (28, San Antonio, TX)
Song: "You Don't Own Me"
Though her family's body shop could offer her some career stability, Rudi has her grandfather's music inclination, and her family has long sacrificed to help her nurture her vocals. Closing out the night, Rudi delivered a rousing rendition of this vintage number, fit with R&B-style runs and a few punchy top notes. Though she earned all four turns, Niall made good on his promise to block John as revenge, thus taking him off the table for this contestant as he threw his support behind her joining Team Gwen.
