‘The Voice’ Recap: John Legend Remains the Four-Chair Coach King on Round Six of the Blind Auditions
Also, Niall Horan thinks every team has a "proper" potential winner already
The Voice's blind auditions continued Tuesday night with the sixth round of recruitment, and this time, the coaches decided to be a little more choosy about who they decided to turn around for. Of course, it doesn't hurt that all four of them — John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan and Reba McEntire — have already courted some intriguing talent for each of their teams.
However, that won't stop John Legend from continuing to corral all the four-chair-turn-winning contestants he can. Here's how the sixth night of the blinds shook out Tuesday night.
Willie Gomez (37, Miami, FL)
Song: "La Bachata" by Manuel Turizo
John might've been the second-to-last person to turn his chair for this singer, but he was first to win over the four-chair-turner on the final night. Willie, whose fluency with rhythm and romantic tones matched perfectly with this Spanish-language number, was praised by John for his "rich" vocals, "baritone" sound and full-package appeal. Though Gwen certainly tried to win him over — even pulling out a bit of flirtation that had her fellow coaches dialing up Blake Shelton — the Dominican Republic-born singer-dancer picked John.

Song: "This Town" by Niall Horan
Singing a coach's own song in front of them is a major gamble, but this radio-ready pop singer has bubblegum tones blended with a songwriter's gravitas and got Niall to tamp his button without much hesitation. Niall praised her "maturity" in approaching the number, and even though Reba also shot her shot to court this contender, she was meant for Team Niall.
Team: Niall Horan
Caitlin Quisenberry (27, Denver, CO)
Song: "Rainbow" by Kacey Musgraves
This singer put herself to the test in a big way by picking a song that requires both intensity and tenderness in equal measure throughout. Luckily, Caitlin had a bit of both — even if she wasn't necessarily consistent enough about when to employ those qualities to earn all four coaches' bids. The auditioner, who gave up a career in law to pursue her life-long passion for signing, earned the attention of both Gwen and Reba, who each promised to help mold her skills in their own ways, but ultimately Caitlin opted to work with the Queen of Country.
Team: Reba McEntire
Clayton Davis (34, Chattanooga, TN)
Song: "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5
This new dad spends his days working in construction, but he gigs with his band often enough to know that it's what he wants to do in the long run. Unfortunately, he chose a very signature voice to try and emulate and just couldn't quite reach the ultra-high notes of Adam Levine.
Team: N/A
Kara Tenae (33, Atlanta, GA)
Song: "Boo'd Up" by Ella Mai
As a teen, Kara was a girl bander who loved the experience of performing. To make ends meet while she continued to pursue her dream, Kara Tenae worked as a ride share driver for Uber but sang enough for her passengers that the company called her up to appear in one of their commercials, which aired during the Grammys broadcast. Her energetic and soulful performance presented her range and commitment to entertaining her audience, and she earned three turns — from Gwen, Niall and Reba. While all three made solid pitches by complimenting her mutlifaceted appeal, Gwen's fellow "Cali girl" status won the day.
Team: Gwen Stefani
Caleb Sasser (27, Los Angeles, CA)
Song: "Another Sad Love Song" by Toni Braxton
Four cheers and four chairs for this middle school music teacher who decided to put his own spin on an R&B favorite and had all of the coaches getting whiplash to turn for him first. He also brought John to his feet with his improvised high notes and rhythmic inserts. John was delighted to take this tenor-toned singer onto Team John Legend.
