‘Ted Lasso’ Star Brendan Hunt Announces Engagement to Shannon Nelson

Brendan Hunt is getting married!

The Ted Lasso star and his now-fiancée Shannon Nelson announced their engagement in separate Instagram posts on Thursday.

The actor, who portrays Coach Beard on the Apple TV+ comedy, shared a candid photo of his bride-to-be showing off her engagement ring while flashing a grin.

"The majestic [Shannon Nelson], so rarely photographed in her natural habitat, captured here in the act of saying 'Yes,'" Hunt captioned the snap.

Over on Nelson's Instagram announcement, Hunt made a cameo as the two smiled in a sweet image with the engagement ring on full display.

"We are a family. A beautiful wonderful family and will be for always," wrote Nelson, who shares 2-year-old son Sean Theodore Nelson Hunt with the actor.

"Some folks have assumed we had already done this, but truth be told we had other priorities in becoming a family. Now it feels right," she continued. "I get to marry this beautiful man. I get to call him my husband and to be his wife and I am the luckiest."

Hunt and Nelson are typically private about their relationship, however, last June, Nelson penned a touching message for her now-fiancé's birthday.

"Happy Birthday to this guy! The past year has been chockablock full of adventure. Maybe not the kind we were always confident in braving, but with you as a partner we will always laugh and we proved we can do anything," she wrote on Instagram. "You also have given this gift to the world and now I share your awesome with every other person on the planet and this makes me giddy. Happy happy birthday [Brendan Hunt]! I'll move to London and have a baby with you any day."
