Taylor Swift Splits from Matty Healy: ‘She Wanted to Be Single,’ Says Source

Taylor Swift and Matty Healy's whirlwind romance is over after weeks of dating, a source tells The Messenger.

"It was a whirlwind romance but Taylor and Matty are now not together. Taylor broke it off with him, and it happened fast," the source says.

TMZ was first to report the news on Monday. Reps for the singers, who never publicly commented on the status of their relationship, did not immediately respond for comment. 

The Messenger's source adds, "They had a lot of fun together, and it moved really quickly, but ultimately Taylor wanted to move on and be single."

Swift was romantically linked to Healy this May shortly after she and longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn broke up in April.

A source previously told The Messenger the singers "have been friends for years and reconnected," adding: "They had talked about working on music together years ago, but reunited through mutual friends."

The Healy source continued, "Things moved very quickly, and she was swept off her feet. They have been inseparable."

The Eras Tour icon and The 1975 frontman fueled speculation of their relationship status in recent weeks. They stepped out together in New York City last month, shortly before he attended her concert with her dad Scott Swift in her hometown of Philadelphia as well as three subsequent stops in Nashville.

The former pair was first linked in 2014 when she attended several of Healy's performances with his band, and he recently contributed to a scrapped song from Swift's latest album Midnights. They were last publicly photographed together on May 25.
