Taylor Swift's Eras Tour film, documenting her blockbuster tour, premiered Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Ahead of the screening, the pop star addressed the audience inside the AMC theaters at the city's luxury outdoor mall the Grove.

“ I wanted to come and say hi. This is a very special theater, because we got all the dancers in this theater,” Swift said as she addressed the audience in the complex’s theater one.

“Every single person in this theater has been hand selected and handpicked and invited to this night because you've shown some sort of extra type of support for this tour,” she continued. “And I appreciate that more than you could possibly know. I'm always looking out for people with elevated levels of passion, incredible senses of humor on the internet [and] attention to detail.”

“These things are very important to me,” Swift added. “So thank you for everything you've done that just got us all in this one room…I've always had fun doing this. I can't believe I get to do music as a career. That's crazy.”

“I've always had so much fun doing it [but] I've never had as much fun in my life as I have had on the Eras Tour,” she continued. “It is far and away just the most electric experience of my life and the reason for that is several things, like my band, my dancers, our crew. We did this show, rain or shine, in sickness and in health, no matter what was going on in our lives, and we did it with a grin on our face because of what greeted us on the other side.”

“What you guys were doing in the audience, the amount of care and preparation and passion that you put in [and] intensity that you put into coming to these shows… You pulled us out of anything rough that might have been going on in our lives, let us forget about it for three and a half hours every night on that stage. So thank you so much for doing that for us.”

“I think the fans will see -- and the dancers -- you'll all see how much you’re a main character is in this film. And I love you so much. I appreciate you being here on this night. It is a core memory for me and you're a part of it and you decided you wanted to spend your evening here with us.”

“So, I really hope you have fun,” Swift said. “I hope you love it so much. I hope you're so proud. Thank you for being here. We love you guys!”

The film was screened in several of the complex’s theaters. Swift watched the film in theater two, with celebrity friends including Adam Sandler and his daughters and Maren Morris.Rumors of a performance by Swift didn’t materialize, but some of the singer’s celebrity friends did turn out, including Sandler and his daughters, actor Simu Liu, rapper Flavor Flav, the Mindy Project’s Fortune Feimster, actress Mariska Hargitay, singer Maren Morris, actress Julia Garner, filmmaker Sam Wrench, and more.

The premiere was a big event in Los Angeles, shutting down the Grove for all of Wednesday. A source told The Messenger that the site was shut down as of 11 p.m. Tuesday night in preparation for the premiere. Streets were closed in the Fairfax District ahead of the event. The Eras Tour film was announced in August and will officially premiere in theaters on Friday, but Swift announced Wednesday more advanced screenings will be added on Thursday.

One economist estimated that the tour itself could have an $80 billion impact, while the announcement of the film caused shares for the AMC movie-theater chain to jump 7%. Her live Eras Tour will resume next month in Buenos Aires.
