An Animated Steve Urkel Christmas Movie Is Coming: Watch Preview

This holiday season, a familiar refrain will be echoing from the decorated halls: "Did I do that?" Jaleel White reprises his role as Steve Urkel in the animated Christmas movie Urkel Saves Santa, which finds the iconic character on a brand-new mission.

"It’s me, Steve Urkel," he says in the trailer. "I just want this holiday season to be the best it can be."

Because it's Urkel, things don't exactly go smoothly.

In the trailer, he's called "awkward," "goofy," and a "bumbling Butterfingered klutz" (yikes), but Urkel remains undeterred.

"Hoping to make things right, Steve invents a device that helps people spread holiday cheer but it only manages to make things worse," the movie's synopsis reads. "Using his big brain and even bigger heart, it’s up to Steve to help the city rediscover the holiday spirit."

In addition to White, Urkel Saves Santa also features the voice talents of Nicole Byer, Roy Wood Jr. and Kym Whitley.

An animated Steve Urkel holiday movie, set to air on Cartoon Network, was announced in 2021. However, it was later dropped from the slate following Warner Bros. Discovery's merger with HBO Max.

Urkel Saves Santa will be available to purchase from participating digital platforms — including Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play and Vudu — beginning Nov. 21.
