Spotify’s New Tool Will Let Singers Pay to Promote Their Music in Home Feed
For a fee, artists will be able to have their music featured at the most visited place on Spotify
Spotify's latest tool will allow artists to promote their music on the platform's home feed for a fee.
The digital music service announced a new campaign tool titled Showcase, which gives artists and their teams more ways to get new and old music in front of the right listeners.
"With Showcase, you'll be able to develop fans in ways that have never been possible before — by giving your music its moment on Home," Spotify said in a blog post from Monday. "Showcase is a sponsored recommendation that helps you share your music — whether it’s your newest release, your deepest catalog cut or anything in between — at any time to likely listeners across Spotify."
The music will appear as a mobile banner at the top of Spotify’s Home, which the company says is the most visited place on Spotify.
The tool will also allow artists to spotlight a single, EP or whole album with multiple campaigns to reach different goals.
In addition, artists can pick from a variety of headlines for the Showcase banner, including “Release anniversary,” “On tour,” “New release," 'Seasonable vibes" and others.

The new feature was first announced earlier this year at Spotify’s Stream On event in Los Angeles.
“We’re constantly talking with artists and their teams to better understand how we can help them grow their fan base more effectively,” Spotify for Artists product marketing manager Phoebe Deards previously said, via Tech Crunch. "Now artists can amplify a new release, give their catalog an encore, turn viral buzz into long-term fandom and more — right at the moments that matter most and on the most visited place on Spotify: Home."
