A date has been set for the next development tied to Sophie Turner's recent lawsuit against Joe Jonas. On Sept. 22, a Manhattan district judge scheduled a pretrial court date for Oct. 3.

"The parties are hereby ordered to appear for an initial pretrial conference," the filing, which was reviewed by The Messenger, reads.

Additionally, it remains unclear if Turner and Jonas will appear in person, as they are "invited, but not required, to appear for the conference in their individual capacities, with the option to proceed remotely."

This latest filing comes after Turner filed a hefty lawsuit against Jonas, alleging that he is withholding their two daughters' passports and that she was notified about his divorce filing through the media. The suit requests Jonas to return the children to their U.K. home, stating that the guitarist "wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained" their daughters — Willa, 3, and a baby girl born in July 2022.

In a lengthy statement from his representative to The Messenger, Jonas denied the allegations, saying that Turner knew he was filing for divorce and that the jurisdiction for the case should be Florida, not the U.K. — the location Turner is requesting be the children's "forever home."

He also stated the their children are American citizens, though he is "of course also OK with the kids being raised both in the U.S. and the UK. The children were born in the U.S. and have spent the vast majority of their lives in the U.S. They are American citizens."

Jonas originally filed for divorce on Sept. 5 in Miami Dade County, Fla., stating that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken."

Since filing her lawsuit, Turner has been in New York with the couple's children. She was spotted getting dinner with Taylor Swift (another ex-girlfriend of Jonas) twice in one week. On Tuesday, before the papers were made public, Turner and Swift stepped out for dinner together, and on Thursday, Swift and Turner had another outing where they were joined by the Haim sisters Este, Danielle and Alana.
