‘SNL’ Will Be Hosting Its 50th Birthday Party at Radio City Music Hall

New York's hottest club is... Radio City Music Hall.

That's because longtime late-night comedy sketch and political satire show Saturday Night Live will be hosting its 50th birthday party at the famous venue.

During the Cannes Lions Festival, SNL boss Lorne Michaels announced that he and his team would be marking the milestone in 2024. He also revealed that the half-century celebration will serve as a kickoff to NBC's coverage of the Paris Olympics next summer.

"It will be emotional, but everyone will show up because it's important. The planning for it, which has taken the last six months and it's not happening for another year and a half — there are a lot of events happening," Michaels reportedly teased.

He also noted that the Radio City birthday party will include a "kind of homecoming night" with musical acts and stand-ups from the casts' past fifty years.

"The language won't be in control, and it will take as long as it takes," Michaels added of the planned live-stream (likely on NBC's Peacock platform).

While he remained mum about who exactly would be in attendance, SNL boasts plenty of comedy giants to choose from — including Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Bill Hader, Kenan Thompson, Vanessa Bayer, Tracy Morgan, Andy Samberg, Rachel Dratch, Aidy Bryant, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen, to name just a few.
