Sinéad O'Connor's loved ones shared their gratitude on the noticeboard of the Irish Times, thanking all those who have shown support following the late singer's death.

"The children of Sinéad together with Sinéad's extended family wish to thank the countless kind people who sympathized and offered condolences on Sinéad's recent passing," the Sunday post read. "Their helpful support for the family is much appreciated."

The message thanked a handful of organizations and people, in particular — including President of Ireland Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina, An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar TD, funeral service leader Dingle Druid Juli Ní Mhaoileóinm and Shaykh Dr Umar Al-Qadri, who offered Muslim prayers and blessings, as well as the musicians who performed at the services.

The family also gave a special shout out to the media and O'Connor's fans around the globe for their "outpouring of love and affection."

"Our thanks to the media personnel in general at home and abroad who celebrated Sinéad in song and story while showing respect for the privacy requested by the family," the post continued. "We ask that this privacy continue to be respected."

"Finally, we wish to thank Sinéad’s fans and admirers for the wonderful funeral procession they gave her past her old home in Bray and for the national and international outpouring of love and affection for Sinéad from the time of her passing," it concluded. "The prayers and thanks of the extended O'Connor family are with you all."

The "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer died July 26 in her home. She was 56 years old.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad," O'Connor's loved ones announced. "Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

Earlier this month, O'Connor's loved ones and fans gathered together to celebrate her life and legacy by participating in a funeral procession in the streets in Bray, Ireland — O'Connor's hometown, The Irish Times reported.

She is survived by her three children: Jake, Roisin and Yeshua. Her son Shane died by suicide last year.
