Sarah Michelle Gellar offered an update on Shannen Doherty's cancer battle. Gellar called Doherty, who has metastatic breast cancer, a "warrior."

"She lives every day and she’s fighting," Gellar said in an Oct. 24 interview with Access Hollywood. "There are ups and downs and there are days that are harder than others and there are some days that are easy, but she’s doing great.”

Doherty, 52, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation treatment. After going through remission, the Beverly Hills 90210 star revealed she had stage four breast cancer.

"I don't think that I've processed it," Doherty said during a Good Morning America interview in 2020. "It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways. I definitely have days where I say, 'Why me?' And then I go, 'Well, why not me? Who else besides me deserves this?' None of us do."

Doherty took to Instagram in June to share that the cancer had spread to her brain. In an emotional video, the actress can be seen crying before going through radiation treatment.

"My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life," she captioned the footage. "I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at cedar sinai. But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like."
