‘The View’ Co-Host Sara Haines Says Elon Musk Is Not ‘Emotionally Intelligent’

On Thursday's episode of 'The View,' co-host Sara Haines called Elon Musk 'reactive and impulsive' after the SpaceX founder's chaotic appearance at the DealBook Summit in New York

After Elon Musk's explosive appearance at a business summit on Wednesday, The View's Sara Haines took him to task for his behavior.

"He's not very emotionally intelligent," Haines argued on Thursday's show. "He's reactive and impulsive. He cannot control his own response and regulate his emotions."

At Wednesday's New York Times DealBook Summit, which featured Musk as a speaker, the SpaceX founder berated advertisers for leaving his platform x (formerly Twitter) over concerns about antisemitism, calling out Disney CEO Bob Iger by name and saying, "Go f--- yourself."

"When he said advertisers would be responsible for killing the company, he’s dissociating with what caused the advertisers to step away," Haines said of Musk's remarks. "He knows, as a businessman, that companies are responsible to not only their employees, but their consumers."

Haines continued, "We live in a time of conscientious consumerism when people want to put the one power they have, which is their dollar, towards something that matters. Whether it's for good or against something bad."

Specifically, Haines referenced multiple antisemitic sentiments shared by Musk himself, including a tweet earlier this month in which Musk said the Jewish community having "hatred against whites" was "the actual truth."

"Any time you're indulging in a story where a group is identified by their identity and you're starting to share that story," Haines said, "you're literally in a conspiracy theory and you're part of the problem."

Musk apologized for the tweet during the summit, saying, "Of the 30,000 it might be literally the worst and dumbest post I've ever done."
