Warning: This post contains spoilers for Saltburn, now available to stream on Prime Video.

Now available to watch from home over the holiday weekend, Saltburn is causing a stir with viewers on social media, who can't seem to get over some of the film's more shocking moments.

When the movie hit theaters on Nov. 17, critics were left divided over its message but there's no shortage of scenes that have audiences talking. Writer and director Emerald Fennell presents quite the wild ride in her latest film, which features its stars Barry Keoghan and Jacob Elordi in some compromising positions.

In Saltburn, Oxford scholarship student Oliver Quick (Keoghan) develops an infatuation with his new wealthy, eccentric friend Felix Catton (Elordi). Although embarrassed by his poor upbringing, Oliver accepts an invitation to Felix's sprawling family estate for the summer. But nothing is as it seems.

Fennell explained that the movie "gets under your skin," adding: "We just want to make something that makes people feel something. I want to make stuff that you go and sit in a dark room full of strangers, and you don't know what you're going to feel, and you don't know where you're going to be probed. And everyone has a different take on it."

With period sex and other bodily fluids sprinkled throughout the film, these are the most (spoiler-filled) WTF moments in Saltburn.

Down the drain

As Oliver's not-so-secret infatuation intensifies, he spies on Felix masturbating in the bathtub (a buzzworthy scene alone). What happens next is sure to elicit some strong reactions: Oliver sneaks into the now-vacant bathroom and slurps up the water and other fluids from the drain.

"I was like, 'Thank God, it's mine.' I was very proud," joked Elordi of the scene while speaking to Variety at the Los Angeles premiere. "I was very proud to have Barry Keoghan guzzling it like that."

Although the movie flirts with queerness, it rarely gives into those opportunities onscreen. This is one of the rare moments that pays off for queer audiences waiting for Fennell to throw them a bone after about 45 minutes of subdued homoeroticism.

Seeing red

Felix isn't the only one who catches Oliver's fancy as the outsider slowly makes his way through most members of the Catton dynasty.

Further proving that period sex is having onscreen renaissance, Oliver sneaks off for a midnight rendezvous with Felix's flirtatious sister Venetia (Alison Oliver) while she waits outside his window in a nightgown.

What starts as some heavy petting soon turns into finger painting after Venetia gets shy over the fact that she's menstruating. To her surprise, Oliver embraces her monthly visiter and incorporates it into their foreplay.

Buried emotions

After a pivotal moment in the movie, Oliver and the Cattons gather in a cemetery for a funeral. Following the service, he stays behind to say his own goodbyes in private.

Keoghan admitted to Variety that the scene in which he pulls out his junk and gets intimate with a fresh gravesite "was sort of like a collaboration with me and Emerald."

He recounted, "On the day, I was like, 'Can I try something?' I wanted to see what the next level of obsession was. So I asked for a closed set. I wanted to see where it went. It could have gone completely wrong, but I think it moved the story."

Naked dance

Keoghan isn't the only actor who drops his pants in Saltburn — one scene features the entire young ensemble (including Elordi, Oliver and Archie Madekwe) sunbathing nude in a field.

But the Academy Award nominee certainly goes a step further with the concept of walking around in the buff with the house to himself.

Keoghan does the full monty, dancing nude around the titular castle to Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 2001 single "Murder on the Dancefloor," and leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination.

Twist ending

What Fennell's latest film might lack in story and unapologetic queerness, it certainly makes up for with a few shock reveals that are equal parts twisted and camp, delivering a stylized modern take on The Talented Mr. Ripley.

As Oliver is immersed into a world of decadence and debauchery, his intentions soon become clear as he's in fact a wolf in sheep's clothing who's harbored ulterior motives this whole trip.

Although this "twist" might be one of the least shocking moments in the movie, it certainly lends itself to Fennell's proclivity for stylized drama.
