‘RHOC’ Star Shannon Beador Sentenced to 3 Years Probation for DUI Before BravoCon Appearance
The Bravo star pleaded no contest to one count of DUI and one count of driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more
Shannon Beador is facing the consequences of her actions behind the wheel. The Real Housewives of Orange County star was sentenced Thursday to three years probation after pleading no contest to one count of DUI and one count of driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more, The Messenger confirmed.
Beador must also complete 40 hours of community service and a nine-month alcohol program.
According to TMZ, who first reported the news, Beador did not appear in an Orange County, Calif., courtroom Thursday for the sentencing. Instead, her attorney appeared on her behalf.
Beador is still set to appear in Las Vegas this weekend for BravoCon 2023, The Messenger also confirmed.
"Shannon pleaded no contest/nolo contendere this morning to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving when she had a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office argued that Shannon should be sentenced to jail and be convicted of DUI and a hit-and-run," Beador's lawyer told The Messenger.
"But after receiving legal arguments from both sides, the judge denied the prosecutor’s request and dismissed the hit-and-run. In so ruling, the judge acknowledged that Shannon had made full restitution to the homeowner in this matter, who did not desire prosecution, and admitted her wrongdoing at an early stage of the proceedings. As we first reported she would, Shannon took full responsibility for her actions and accepted the judge’s sentence of 40 hours of community service, 9 months of alcohol classes and the standard three years of unsupervised/informal probation."
Her lawyer also provided comments from Beador herself.
"I am grateful that no one else was injured besides me in this incident," the reality star said in the statement. "I have learned so much from my terrible mistake that night and realize that driving any distance while impaired is too far."

Last month, the Orange County District Attorney's office charged the Bravo personality with one count of driving under the influence and one count of hit-and-run, both of which are misdemeanors.
According to legal docs obtained by The Messenger, Orange County D.A. Todd Spitzer wanted the reality star to serve 30 days in jail. The judge, however, dismissed one count of hit-and-run with property damage and opted for probation.
"Driving under the influence must have consequences,” Spitzer said in a statement to The Messenger. “When a judge gives someone who not only drove with a blood alcohol level of .24 — three times the legal limit — but then ran away from the scene of an DUI collision a slap on the wrist, you are sending a message that DUIs are not serious crimes that demand accountability."
Beador's legal trouble began when she was arrested in Newport Beach, Calif., in the early morning hours of Sept. 17. At the time, Beador's attorney Michael Fell told The Messenger his client "is extremely apologetic and remorseful."
After the arrest, The Messenger confirmed that Beador entered an outpatient behavioral wellness program with an alcohol component.
"I know it's been a while since I posted, and there's been a lot of talk about everything that's happened recently," Beador said in a video Oct. 17. "But, unfortunately right now, I'm not in the position to comment, but there will be a time when I can. I intend to be open, honest and authentic. Right now, I'm focusing on getting healthy and getting back to myself."
