Rascal Flatts Members Joe Don Rooney & Jay DeMarcus Reunite for Studio Pic

Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney, two of the three members of the country band Rascal Flatts, reunited for a photo in the recording studio.

"Hung out with this guy in the studio today!!" wrote DeMarcus on Instagram. "So good seeing @joedonrooney!!!"

Fans were excited by the post. "Oh please let this be the beginning of that farewell tour that we didn’t get in 2020," one wrote. "Or maybe not farewell at all!"

The group, which also included Gary LeVox, initially split up in January 2020 and announced they'd wrap up their trio with a farewell tour, which the COVID-19 pandemic quickly derailed.

The three went down their own paths. While LeVox stepped into his own as a gospel artist and DeMarcus became the head of a new record label, Rooney dealt with a divorce from his wife of 15 years and was charged with a DUI in September 2021. LeVox later claimed it was Rooney's decision to quit the band.
