Priscilla Presley's love for Elvis Presley went beyond their six-year marriage, and thanks to the release of her biopic, Priscilla, their romance has become a spotlighted topic of conversation for the star.

The actress and the king of rock and roll were married from 1967 to 1973 and had one child: Lisa Marie Presley. The biopic serves as an adaptation of Priscilla's 1985 memoir, Elvis and Me, and details their high-profile romance from meeting in Germany in 1959 to tying the knot in May 1967. They divorced in 1973 and Elvis died four years later. Despite their split 50 years ago, Priscilla has recently looked back on her relationship with Elvis with nothing but love.

On her first meeting with Elvis

When Priscilla and Elvis first met, she was 14 and he was 24, and their age gap was widely criticized.

It was "very difficult for my parents to understand that Elvis would be interested in me and why," she said at the film's premiere in September, per The Hollywood Reporter. She explained that he valued her ability to listen.

"Elvis would pour his heart out to me. His hopes, his fears, his loss of his mother. And I was the person who really sat there to listen and to comfort him. That was really our connection."

Priscilla added that despite her age, she was "older in life than in years."

She continued: "And that was the attraction. People think 'Oh, it was sex, it was this.' Not at all. I never had sex with him [when they were first getting to know each other]. He was very kind, very soft, very loving. But he also respected the fact I was only 14 years old. We were more in mind and thought and that was our relationship."

On their marriage

"You know, being married to Elvis Presley, you don’t really know what you’re getting into, especially when you are younger," Priscilla told  The Post's Piers Morgan in an interview published on Nov. 1. "You have to adapt to not really having your privacy. So, it’s been a journey, there’s no doubt."

She continued in part, "I miss him very much. I miss his words, I miss his love, I miss his laugh, I miss his energy, I miss the fun times. You don’t really realize the fun times that you are having, until you go back and look at your albums and your pictures and you go, 'Oh my God, we had so much fun, we did so much.' It’s still there."

Why Priscilla didn't remarry after Elvis

Priscilla refused to marry again after things didn't work out with her and Elvis. "I just don't think that he could handle that," she said while holding a Q&A at Las Vegas' South Point Casino on Friday, per People.

Though she doesn't believe Elvis would have wanted her to move on, Priscilla said she doesn't want to either. "To be honest with you, I never wanted to marry after him," she added. "I never had any desire. No one could ever match him.”

The pair shared one child, Lisa Marie Presley, who died of a small bowel obstruction on Jan. 12. Priscilla shared that she and Elvis didn't want more children because "Elvis felt he had a very busy schedule and he did have a bit of guilt that he wasn't around that much when Lisa was younger."

Priscilla plans to be buried next to Elvis

After settling a months-long dispute with granddaughter Riley Keough over Lisa Marie's estate, Priscilla will be buried next to Elvis in Graceland.

"Although I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon. It is my family's and my wish for me to be laid to rest with my daughter and the love of my life when that time comes," she previously told TMZ in May. "We appreciate the love from all of the fans."
