Poor Things won Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy at the 81st Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, with director Yorgos Lanthimos delivering a speech on behalf of the film.

While accepting the award, Lanthimos thanked the cast and crew along with Bruce Springsteen. The Boss wasn't involved with the film, but the director, clearly thrilled to be in the same room with his musical idol, took the time to note they share the same birthday.

Poor Things follows the story of Bella Baxter (Stone), who is brought back to life by a scientist, Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Stone won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy earlier in the night for her performance. In total, the film was nominated for seven Golden Globes.

"Playing Bella was unbelievable," Stone said while accepting the award. "I think this was a rom-com? I see this as a rom-com. Bella falls in love with life itself rather than a person and she accepts the good and bad in equal measure, and that really made me look at life differently."
