Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi Claims ‘Jersey Shore’ Production Team Encouraged Her Beach Arrest Back in 2010

'Everyone treated it like I was Lindsay Lohan. It was wild,' the 'Jersey Shore Family Vacation' star recalled of her Season 3 arrest

According to Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, the Jersey Shore production team had a hand in the infamous day of her Seaside Heights, N.J., arrest.

On Thursday's episode of The Meatball Pod podcast, which she co-hosts with castmate Deena Buckner, Polizzi revealed that the behind-the-scenes crew actually told authorities to bring her to the police station.

"I watched the footage, because my lawyer had to see everything that went down and I had to go to court and all this sh--," Polizzi claimed. "It was really dramatic. Everyone treated it like I was Lindsay Lohan. It was wild. So we had to watch the footage and I heard the producers saying 'Arrest her, arrest her,' to the cops."

Polizzi went on to say that she still isn't sure why the crew treated her that way, but guessed it was probably to prevent her from getting into more trouble by possibly resisting arrest — or perhaps to raise the stakes for the show.

After beginning her day of filming the MTV series by drinking on July 30, 2010, Polizzi found herself running rampant (and drunkenly) along the Jersey Shore's Seaside Heights boardwalk.

After being chased by co-stars Buckner (then Cortese) and Jenni "JWOWW" Farley, yelling at random beachgoers and falling down in the sand, Polizzi was apprehended by Seaside Heights police officers for disorderly conduct.

The scene was included in a Season 3 episode of the show, which aired in January 2011. It has since gone down in history, serving as the impetus for two legendary moments recognized even amongst non-fans of the show:
"Where's the beach?!" which Polizzi ironically screamed while running along said beach; and "I'm a good person," which she pleaded to the authorities as they placed her in handcuffs.

While comparing Polizzi's arrest with her own for running through the streets of Italy in a following season, Buckner bluntly told her friend, "You were kind of nasty to the police, but I wasn't."

"Whoops!" Polizzi responded with a chuckle. "But they, like, twisted my arm and it hurt."

After being taken into custody, Polizzi was released on the terms of returning at a later date for a court appearance. She eventually appeared in front of a judge, and ultimately was ordered to complete community service and pay a fine.

Jersey Shore Family Vacation currently airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on MTV.
