Natalie Portman Speaks Out on Hamas Attacks: ‘My Heart Is Shattered for the People of Israel’
The Oscar-winning actress, who was born in Jerusalem, posted to Instagram on Sunday
Natalie Portman, who was born in Jerusalem, spoke out on Instagram Sunday about the surprise Hamas attacks on Israel Saturday that left hundreds dead and wounded thousands.
"My heart is shattered for the people of Israel," the Oscar-winning actress wrote in a post. "Children, women and the elderly have been murdered and abducted from their own homes. I am in horror at these barbaric acts and my heart is pounding with love and prayer for the families of all affected."
As of Sunday morning, At least 600 people have been killed, and more than 1800 have been injured in Gaza after the militant group launched thousands of rockets outside the Gaza Strip Saturday.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said that 232 people died and 1,790 others have been wounded in Gaza.
