Popular YouTuber MrBeast wants Mark Zuckerberg to make him CEO of Threads, the latest app from Meta that some are calling the "Twitter killer."

"Like this if @zuck should make me CEO," MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, wrote Wednesday within the first few hours of the new app's launch. Though both MrBeast and Zuckerberg now have one-million followers on the app, as of press time for this article, the former surpassed the Meta CEO in followers on the day of the launch

Threads users had mixed reactions to the YouTuber's offer, with one person writing, "You always CEO," while another added, "@zuck don't do it."

While it appears that Zuckerberg has yet to reply to MrBeast on the new social media platform, he did share that millions of people had already signed up for Threads within 24-hours of launching.

"Wow, 30 million sign ups as of this morning. Feels like the beginning of something special, but we've got a lot of work ahead to build out the app," he wrote, garnering over 103,000 likes at the time of publication.

MrBeast asking the Facebook co-founder to be named CEO of Threads – which is very similar to Twitter – comes after the he joked that he could take over as the CEO of Twitter after Elon Musk stepped down.

"Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks! My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops," Musk tweeted in May, to which MrBeast replied, "I call dibs if she doesn’t work out."

The following month, Linda Yaccarino – a former NBCUniversal marketing executive – officially took over Musk's role.

Yaccarino seemingly addressed Threads' launch and the platform's similarities to Twitter in a tweet Thursday, writing: "On Twitter, everyone's voice matters. Whether you’re here to watch history unfold, discover REAL-TIME information all over the world, share your opinions, or learn about others – on Twitter YOU can be real."

She concluded: "YOU built the Twitter community. And that's irreplaceable. This is your public square. We're often imitated -- but the Twitter community can never be duplicated."
