Meghan McCain Speaks Out About Celebs Not Showing Support for Israel: ‘I Can’t Help But Be Disappointed’ (Exclusive)

'For some reason when it comes to antisemitism and Jewish people literally being hunted and attempted to be exterminated by radical terrorists, it's a lot harder for people to speak out,' the former co-host of 'The View' said

Meghan McCain is not one to shy away from speaking her mind.

In an exclusive interview with The Messenger to promote her new Citizen Cain Productions banner and her Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat podcast, the former co-host of The View expressed her disappointment in the many celebrities who have been silent about the ongoing war between Hamas and Israel.

"I don't understand it," she said. "I think anytime any horrific tragedy happens so many celebrities, rightfully and justifiably so, are the first people to speak up and be outraged. For some reason when it comes to antisemitism and Jewish people literally being hunted and attempted to be exterminated by radical terrorists, it's a lot harder for people to speak out."

"I've never understood it," she continued. "Anyone who has followed any of my work for years knows this is something that I've been, in the activist space for a really long time. And, I'm really disappointed, honestly and kind of grossed out."

"I just feel like we should all come together in the way that I have done for every persecuted minority group since I've had a voice. I can't help but be disappointed," she added.

McCain, who even questioned whether or not to self-promote her podcast given the timing, said she feels she has a "responsibility" to voice her opinion.

"This is the worst Jewish massacre since the Holocaust," she said. "And the timing of my podcast launch is hard. I had to have a long conversation with my team yesterday. If this is tonally appropriate, if we should move the date back and forth and [we] concluded that we're going to do just an entire episode on Israel and antisemitism. Because that's the only thing I can think about and talk about right now."

"I just think that with great leadership, great power and great fame comes great responsibility, and this is really a time for us to be there for our Jewish brothers and sisters, both here in America and abroad," she added.

Celebrities such Gwyneth Paltrow, Dwayne Johnson and Kim Kardashian have recently shared their thoughts on the war. While other prominent celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have yet to speak out.

Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat premieres on Oct. 17.
