Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell's cancer diagnosis will be documented in the upcoming season of Mama June: Family Crisis. The reality TV star ultimately died at age 29 due to stage 4 adrenal carcinoma on Dec. 9

In a preview released by WE tv this week, June "Mama June" Shannon and her family come together in hopes of providing support for their sick relative.

"Anna's cancer is very aggressive," Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird said in the sneak peek. Cardwell added, "I don't need any more stress on me."

While the new season will also feature Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson graduating from high school, the preview suggests Cardwell's experience living with cancer will be a focal point

"This February, Mama June is back and it's the family's toughest battle yet," the preview stated. "There's not enough sweet tea to sugarcoat this news."

Cardwell was first diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January. Her mom later shared in July that her daughter's diagnosis had turned "terminal" before she succumbed to the disease earlier this month.

People also reported that her last days were filmed for the upcoming season of her family's reality television series.

"That's what she wanted," Cardwell's loved ones told the outlet, which also reported that the crew decided against filming the funeral itself.

"She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months," Shannon previously wrote on Instagram when announcing her daughter's death. "She passed away with her family around her. We love y'all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family during this difficult time."

Mama June: Family Crisis returns to WE tv in February 2024.
